Configuration of root canals in permanent mandibular first molars--an in vitro study.

The study attempts to show a number of variations in the root canal morphology of permanent mandibular first molar. The presence of variations increases the chance of failure of endodontic treatment. Knowledge about internal anatomy of the teeth is very essential for a favourable prognosis.
